WHO IS DROCOLE?
DroCole was born on January 6, 1996 in Concession, Zimbabwe. His parents went their separate ways when he was only 5 years old. His maternal grandmother practically raised him as his mother had to seek employment to provide for him and his older sister.
DroCole comes from a religious background. His grandmother would take him to church each time a service was being held. This is where his artistic talents first began to show as he would sing in front of the church with his grandmother. Growing up on his mother's side of the family made him feel like an outsider and the itinerant lifestyle which he experienced led him to isolate himself and he became a loner. This meant he had no close friends. He reflects this also made him want to explore and to be unique.
Once he learned to read, young DroCole would spend much of his time devouring old magazines and novels. He is said to have been a very intelligent student, garnering several prizes for outstanding academic performance in primary school. He skipped two classes and went on to high school. The rapper attended Ellis Robins Boys High in Mabelreign, Harare. In 2013, at the age of 17 he dropped out due to the fact that his mother could no longer afford to pay for his education. He also stated that he constantly had trouble trying to balance school and music.
DroCole first took his pen to start writing music in 2011 but only started to record in 2013 due to financial constraints. The rapper loved how people would say that he "killed it" after listening to his music, particularly due to his energetic and aggressive style of delivery so he began saying he's the "deadly rapper" and that he was obstinate since others discouraged.
He was inspired greatly by phenomenal artists like Michael Jackson. He identifies with The Notorious B.I.G., Big L, T.I., Wiz Khalifa, Tupac, Vybz Kartel, 50 Cent and many others. He also credits both the bad and positive experiences he has been subjected to growing up for molding his life the way it is.
DroCole's music effortlessly stands out, not only because of his unique voice but everything from his highly energetic execution to the subject matters he addresses, to his choice of words and his rebel flow is just unprecedented. DroCole surely has a rare and unfabricated story to share with the world.
The rapper has released a chain of singles, worked with a number of fellow upcoming artists and has done a bit of ghostwriting and is currently working on his first long-play project, a mixtape entitled Gutta Plan. Building up to the release of his mixtape, on September 8, 2017 he did a double drop, releasing a banger Pound Sterling and the hard-hitting track A Milli.
DroCole currently resides in Juliasdale, a small town in Nyanga, Zimbabwe. Juliasdale is home to the first casino in the country. The mountainous town is an attractive destination for tourism.
